Greater Palm Springs is full of Instagram-worthy spots, and we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite places to visit for the perfect photo op!

that pink door palm springs

That Pink Door, 1100 E. Sierra Way, Palm Springs

The Indian Canyons neighborhood of Palm Springs is home to a pink door that has become one of the most-visited spots in town, and it even has its own Instagram account (@thatpinkdoor). If you visit, just remember that this is private property so photos should only be taken from the sidewalk or street without trespassing on the property.

Airstream guest room at Hotel Paseo, 45400 Larkspur Lane, Palm Desert

The brand new Hotel Paseo in Palm Desert, opening later this year, features a unique guest room experience inside of a 1950s Airstream trailer that is located poolside and will make for a perfect spot to snap some fun pics.

The Art Pop gallery in Uptown Palm Springs is home to a new constellation-inspired mural by artist Alex Pesante (aka Ease One).

Each year during Coachella, Ace Hotel & Swim Club unveils a new artist mural as part of its Desert Gold event, with the most recent mural created by Hopie and Lily Stockman, the sister duo behind Block Shop textiles.

Chromosaturation at Kinesthesia, Palm Springs Art Museum

The Palm Springs Art Museum is currently home to an exhibition called Kinesthesia: Latin American Kinetic Art, 1954–1969, which includes a work by Carlos Cruz-Diez called “Chromosaturation” that is viewed by walking through a room with ever-changing colored lights. This exhibition only continues through January 15, 2018, so you’ll want to visit it while you still can!

Taqueria Arandas in the city of Coachella is home to a large mural by local artist Sofia Enriquez.

The Cactarium at Moorten Botanical Garden, 1701 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs

Moorten Botanical Garden, originally established in 1939, is home to over 3,000 specimens of cacti and other desert plants, as well as a “cactarium” (a greenhouse filled with rare cactus specimens).

Sunnylands

Sunnylands, 37977 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage

Sunnylands, the former desert home of Walter and Leonore Annenberg, includes a plethora of pink walls (dating back to the 1960s), plus perfectly landscaped grounds (including a labyrinth, rose garden, cacti, olive groves), and both a visitor’s center and the original estate. Tours of the historic estate must be booked in advance and no interior photography is allowed, but you can photograph the exterior and the grounds.

Yoga instructor, author and artist Amanda Giacomini set out to paint 10,000 Buddhas around the world, with one of her recent Buddha murals located at the yoga studio inside of La Quinta Resort & Club (accessible to resort guests only).

The Palm Springs sign on Highway 111 greets you on your way into town, providing a great backdrop for photos with beautiful mountain vistas and palm trees behind the midcentury modern-inspired letters.

The Parker Palm Springs, 4200 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs

The breezeblock wall and orange doors at the Jonathan Adler-designed Parker Palm Springs hotel are another extremely popular Palm Springs photo destination – so much so that you often have to wait your turn in a queue of photo-takers.

A narrow space next to Palm Greens Café in Palm Springs is home to colorful murals and mountain views.

The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert is home to these pink-feathered Chilean beauties! You can find them at “Flamingo Island,” located by the front entrance to the resort.

Adjacent to ARRIVE Hotel in Palm Springs is their new event space, the Palm Springs Fan Club, which features art by Alex Pasante aka Ease One both inside and outside of the building.

The #pspinkwall at The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five, 1345 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs

The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five houses multiple retail stores and art galleries under one midcentury modern roof, with the front exterior of the E. Stewart Williams-designed building now painted pink.

Coachella murals

Murals by Vyal Reyes and Lapiztola, 1604 6th Street, Coachella

The city of Coachella is home to numerous murals at local businesses and municipal buildings, as part of its Coachella Walls project with artists including Armando Lerma and Carlos Ramirez (aka The Date Farmers), as well as many others who contributed to standalone murals and the 1,400-foot-long community art wall on Shady Lane. If you’re up for an excursion deeper into the desert, Salvation Mountain is a photographer’s dream, with tons of photo ops on and around artist Leonard Knight’s manmade “mountain.”
